About BSS

Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) is a Hindu philanthropic and charitable non-governmental organization with a firm and enduring commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged. This guiding principle of concern for the weak and deprived citizens has been the force empowering BSS members and devotees to dedicate their lives to serving humanity. BSS was originally established in India in 1917 by Acharya Srimat Swami PranavanandajiMaharaj.

BSS has hundreds of branches (ashrams) in India and other countries including the United Kingdom, United States, Guyana, Canada, Fiji and Bangladesh. It has initiated several missions to African countries, Malaysia, and Indonesia; and monks from the Sangha have accompanied United Nations delegations to Syria and Lebanon.
